Art Burton, an author, will give a lecture on Deputy U.S. Marshall Bass Reeves at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at the Oklahoma History Center, 2401 N. Laird Ave.

Also, Mr. Burton (author of “Black Gun Silver Star”), Vaunda Nelson (author of the children’s book, “Bad News for Outlaws”) and Baridi Nkokheli (a Bass Reeves reenactor) will be featured during a book-signing from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

New Year’s Eve
 
 
TULSA--Grady Nichols, the jazz saxophonist, and Krista Branch, a singer who once appeared on “American Idol,” will headline the New Year’s Eve gala to be held at the Jazz Depot, 111 E. 1st St.

The event will be held from 8 p.m. until 1 a.m.

A buffet dinner will be served, plus there will be a cash bar and party favors.

Complimentary champagne will be served at midnight for a New Year’s toast.

Tickets are $70 each.


An Exhibit is Presented at Museum
“The Guitar: Art, Artists and Artisans,” an exhibition, will be presented at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, 1700 NE 63rd St., from Friday, Feb. 12, through Sunday, May 9.

A free preview event will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 13.
